Perfect place for a pit stop when travelling. Our room was generously sized along with the bathroom. We stayed during a heatwave and had already been provided with a fan in the room. I am 27 weeks pregnant so comfort is everything and we were met with a large, comfortable bed & pillows which made the stay so much more relaxing for me. Gorgeous beer garden and well maintained grounds. We really wanted somewhere in which we didn’t have to leave to find somewhere else to eat in the evening but still served good food and not only was the food good, it was exceptional.

We were self catering in one of the coach houses a very short drive from the pub. The accommodation had been beautifully renovated and very spacious. The bathroom was huge and luxurious. A wood burner was set ready to burn, but the heating was so good we didn't need it. The dishes and cutlery was provided in a separate box indicating it had been sterilized from the last use which was really reassuring. The accommodation had direct access to a lovely garden and private parking. Would definitely return given the chance.

The cottage was lovely, but the real highlight was the food and the walk from the cottage to the pub for dinner and breakfast. The venison I had at dinner was one of the best meals I have had in some time, and the breakfast was excellent too. Service was very good - friendly but not over-attentive. Walking through the estate to breakfast in the morning, hearing woodpeckers in the trees and watching deer run across neighbouring fields was the icing on the cake.

We stayed at The Stable Cottages. It was very clean and every nook and cranny was cleaned. The room was very spacious and much nicer than it looked in the photos. And the staff were also very friendly and helpful. It was convenient because you could basically eat dinner at any time. Breakfast was average. The grounds are very large and it was fun to walk around. We will definitely choose this hotel when staying in the area.

The room was warm and very comfortable. Staff were all very friendly, courteous, and efficient. The hotel is cosy with a lovely wood burning stove. We felt welcome and at home. There are walks to the river and woods from the hotel, and only a few miles away is the Hermitage walk at Dunkfield. A round 4 mile spectacular walk taking in river, waterfalls, woods, and views of the mountains. An excellent 3 day stay !
